Strawberry Protein Shake for Weight Loss

Okay, it is definitely time to get back on track. Christmas is gone, summer is coming sooner than we think… Of course, you can always find an excuse that will stop you from achieving your goals, but if you really, really want to feel at your best, you need to nourish yourself the proper way. And that doesn’t necessarily mean starving!

Here is a super delicious, low-calorie shake for you to start your health journey.

Ingredients /1 serving/:

  • 1 cup almond milk (or water)
  • 1 scoop strawberry protein powder*
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp. peanut butter
  • 3-4 strawberries (fresh or frozen)

Method:

  1. Blend all ingredients.
  2. Serve straightaway!

Nutrition: This strawberry smoothie is the perfect breakfast for a weight loss plan, since it is very low in calories, but also filled with protein, vitamins and healthy fiber. It provides you with just the right nutrients to boost your metabolism and energy from the very start of the day. I love using almond milk, since it is very low in fat and carbs, but it gives a much smoother taste to the drink in comparison to water. If you are tolerant to dairy, you can use low-fat milk too, but if your goals are to lose weight, better skip it. You will still enjoy the taste, promise!

*Note: If you are on a weight loss plan, it is better to choose a high quality protein isolate. For females – there are perfect protein powders, suited for women – low carb and half the protein needed for men.  For males – you might need to adjust the proportions by adding more protein to the shake.
